Beet (sugar beet) is a representative crop of Hokkaido. Approximately 4.3 million tons are produced annually as a material for sugar, and 1 kg of beet yields approximately 170 g of sugar. About 75% of the sugar in Japan is made from Hokkaido beets. Molasses and honey have the advantage that they are rich in flavor and can be satisfying even in small quantities. White sugar is said to cool the body, but molasses is said to warm the body.
Characteristics of molasses
It contains various ingredients that are good for the body. When cooked with fish, vegetables, meat, etc., the dishes become rich and tasty. Delicious when mixed with coffee, yogurt, or put on bread. It is believed to be effective in relieving fatigue and hangovers.
